Secrets

Interesting….what makes a person squirm? Truth revealed, or the threat of the truth being revealed is a powerful incentive to strike at the bearer or the receiver of that truth. Funny thing, truth comes to us in strange and unexpected ways: the chance encounter with a friend whose conversation makes you blink!…What!?? what did she say???….wait a minute!! What DID she say? !! Well, she unwittingly spoke the truth about an event involving “him”. He’s now afraid, possibly to the point of wetting his pants. He knows the cat is outta the bag. Yes, once again the past bites him on the ass…or maybe it’s the fear of events, unknown to me, will be revealed. Hmmm?…Wonder why he’s shaking in his boots?

That old habit of secrecy, long since having been exposed to the world, ain’t working for him, no more! Ha!!! No one really cares about his secrets…they are passe, no longer news, just ridiculous, silly shit known by a whole lot of folks. He can’t control the secrets anymore…they have life of their own. The more he struggles to keep himself hidden, the more comes out!

When one is a liar, he can’t keep his tales straight. The receiver of the secrets doesn’t really want to know them, but those little devils keep popping out of someone’s remembrances, someone’s conversation, someone’s love letter, someone’s anniversary card, someone’s photo album, someone’s dresser drawer, someone’s old mail left lying carelessly around. Put a lid on it, already! Get a life! The “keeper” doesn’t have any secrets worth knowing, let alone worth defending!

The “keeper” of the secrets is stressed beyond belief…No legal paper, no legal action, no way in hell will the secrets be erased! They just become known, and you, the “keeper,” realize your worst fear. You are exposed…..
